Family Referral Program Includes September
Our long standing Family Referral Program offers a $400 tuition reduction to a CCCS family that refers a new family that subsequently enrolls. Throughout the months of August and September, we are offering a Special Incentive in lieu of the current Family Referral Program. The Special Incentive gives a referring family a discount on tuition for the 2010-2011 school year that is equal to the 10% discount that the new family receives for the year. This Special Incentive is designed to increase our enrollment to targeted levels in order to meet our financial needs and expand our school family.

New Mower Donated to CCCS
A brand new Scag Freedom Z riding lawn mower was donated to CCCS earlier this summer. An anonymous donor stepped forward and gifted the school and Bob Gartside, Maintenance Supervisor. The new Scag mower has a 52" deck and a zero turn radius. Bob Gartside says the mower will reduce his mowing time by 30%. Once again, CCCS has been blessed by its faithful supporters. Thank you to our donors and to all who continue to support CCCS.

CCCS Students and Staff Volunteer for Service
On April 22 and 23 the students and staff of CCCHS volunteered their time and talents for service at ten organizations across the East Bay region. The students and staff started their day with a time of singing praise songs and hearing a message from God’s Word. As a way of living out what the students and staff had just heard, small groups went out and served various organizations doing a variety of tasks. These tasks included landscaping, spackling, digging trenches, painting, cleaning, preparing food for homeless shelters, and many others. The agencies were extremely grateful to CCCHS for the time our school was able to spend with their local ministries. To complete each day, everyone gathered together to reflect on the day and to share with the entire school how they saw God at work.
The organizations visited by CCCS were:
Alameda County Food Bank
Bay Area Rescue Mission, Richmond
Books for the Barrios,Concord
City Team, Oakland
Food Bank of Contra Costa County
Concord Child Care Center
Faith Network (schools in Oakland)
Love-A-Child,
Bay Point,
Shelter, Inc
World Impact

Sixth Grade Science Camp - A Mountaintop Experience
Mt. Hermon is a Christian conference center nestled in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains. During the week of March 8 – 12, our sixth grade class traveled there to attend Science Camp and were able to experience God's amazing creation as their outdoor classroom. With tall redwoods for walls and a ceiling of starry skies, both days and nights were filled with unique learning opportunities as well as personal challenges that encouraged academic and spiritual growth. The experience each student had at Mt. Hermon will be one to carry with them for many years to come.

Elementary Students Participate in Service Project
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade recently participated in a service project for World Impact in Oakland. They decorated shoeboxes with items purchased for a child about their same age. On November 19 students brought all of their brightly decorated boxes to the big table in the MPR and we prayed for the children who would be receiving them.
Thanks to all parents and students for participating in this project and to Mrs. Walters for delivering the boxes. With the money collected from chapel offerings this year, we also were able to purchase and deliver a badly needed vacuum cleaner for this organization. |
