Intersession in Yosemite
Twelve students, Mr. Burleigh and Mrs. Gelston experienced beautiful Yosemite National Park. This picture was taken at the famous tunnel view. They sketched El Capitan, Half Dome and Bridal Veil falls. They hiked to Lower Yosemite Falls, Mirror Lake, and the Sequoia Grove in Mariposa. They took pictures with a tree that is 2,700 years old. They ate and slept at the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort. It was an unforgettable week.

High School Spiritual Retreat Held at Camp Hammer
As a new teacher, it was my first year to attend the high school spiritual retreat. I was impressed not only with the quality of the program led by Camp Hammer, but also by the unique qualities Contra Costa Christian High School students posses on the whole. Aside from the friendly competitions between classes, a real kinship existed between students and a desire to be an authentic community that is there for one another. I've never heard high school students share this kind of heart for their school. I believe this is the difference being at a Christian school makes. The faith we possess and the Bible being taught are significant, but also the quality of the teachers, their Christian witness, and their example for the students play a significant part in creating this environment. I feel truly blessed to be teaching here among colleagues whose work and faith I deeply respect, as well as students who are seeking to authenticate Christ's love in the community of their school. Far from perfect, we are blessed by God's presence here and sanctifying work in our lives.
